Couldn't help by share my joy - slammed the fish last night with some buddies. I know what we'll be eating at the cabin this winter!

Wild Alaskan Salmon, can't beat it 🙂

Very nice. I'd try to express my jealousy but I don't think that I can put in into words. Good job!

Looks a lot healthier than the fillet-o-fish I had at McDs last week.

I'm very jealous. I just had the frozen packed salmon here in Ohio and it kind of sucks. I wish I had fresh, like that. Cheers and enjoy what you can't get anywhere else.

Yes, very nice.....Are they coho's/silvers?

How do you fish for them up there?

In NY we fly fish for the them but its mostly people flossing or snagging them. Still a lot of fun, they have so much strength its unbelievable..

These are all Sockeye Salmon. When this was posted it was during our "Dip Net" season. Basically you go down to the beach (not preferred), or in a boat near the mouth of the river with a 4-5ft hoop net and scoop them out. Not much sport to it, but it can still be a fun experience once a year.

And nothing comes close productivity wise! This was 70 fish in 80 mins. Split between 3 families.

One the other side of the coin, three rookie friends went ocean fishing last weekend, "They're getting 30# salmon!". "Great, save me some", says I.

Three guys, all day, one rock. Not rock fish, a rock. Glad I stayed home.
