A friend brought this over yesterday and milled some old logs I gave him. Man is this thing sweet! Makes my Lumbersmith look like a tinker toy. He got it rough for $3K and spent another $2K restoring it.
Hydraulic everything. Two arms sit on the ground, roll the logs on and they lift it onto the mill. Another arm grips and rolls the log. Two more arms push and hold the log against the stops. The rails the log sits on go up and down to level the log taper. The mill head of course moves up and down and back and forth under power. About the only thing they had to do was lift the cut slabs off and load them in the truck!
Looks like about a $30K machine new. I think I'm done milling for my needs but sure wish it was around when I was building! 20220215_090301.jpg

Nice! A neighbor of ours has one at his main house...said I could use it anytime. Not sure if it's this elaborate but it is a Wood Mizer... hmm may need to talk to him!

That is a nice machine! I built my mill that I'm sawing about 80-90* of the lumber for my cabin. It's a ton of work on a manual mill.
