Didn't want to hijack the wireless cam thread, but I'm looking for some recommendations for a good game cam (wireless doesn't matter) that does really good at night. I've been wanting one for the cabin but held off 'cause I don't have any experience with them. I had a situation at home that I needed one quick and tried a WoSports mini URL
I'm not sure if I got a dud and should return it, or if it is just that limited. In order to get any night shots I had to go get a solar spot light to illuminate the target area. Otherwise, even with a near to full moon the cam wouldn't sense the movement to trigger. (Side note, at "home" is in a city and there is always plenty of light pollution here.)
The 3 second delay seems sluggish as well, I've had series of 3 pics showing the bait there to a second series of 3 an hour later where it is not there. All while lit by a spotlight. I know something triggered the cam the second time (as it was being taken) but it was too slow to capture what took the bait.
To be fair I'm trying to film a fox in order to help it, I realize they live up to their reputations of being crafty and sly

I'm just looking for a trail cam with good motion detection/night pics in low light. When I do take it to the cabin it is remote with no cell service/electricity to use wifi/surveillance capabilities. Thx Dave! I'll take a look at those.

Good resource Dave. I see the review for my Spypoint Link Micro says 'good camera if you think it might get stolen'. Lol, quite the sales pitch.
Couldn't even find any Moultrie camera reviews.
Both of their night photos are about equal, and I doubt either is known for it. Cell/wifi capability, and their related apps is a big consideration but that's not important it leaves free to concentrate on best photo quality, trigger speed etc..

I have been happy with my 8mp Tacso from walmart. I also have 2 spypoint, moultre, wildgame inovations and stealth cam. The tasco and moultree are the most reliable and easy to use. The reason why I say the tasco is my moultre is an a5 model that they havent sold in about 10yrs.
Pic is from a $29 Tasco that I had out over a whole NY winter.

Thx, I looked at the Tasco and might revisit that one, not sure, hubs started looking at a few of the Bushnells. The one I got takes ok pics, it is just so slow that many of them are of nothing. It's range is also very small. Here's a few where it actually caught the fox.

You may try moving the camera back further so the field of view is a bit wider.

I've had good luck with a Browning unit (2, actually) that uses infrared for the "flash."

I have the older version of this camera, the original "Dark Ops." My first one worked great until the tree it was on got knocked over in a windstorm. 2nd one has captured everything from chipmunks, cats, foxes, deer, people, coyotes, birds, etc. Does well at night, adjustable sensing range and sensitivity, can do videos, etc.

I originally had the camera set back further with a wider angle of view and due to the distance, it never triggered in the target area. We tried a bunch of places while it was in aim mode and found how far we could go b4 it ignored the movement. The WoSport is going back, and I have replacement trial 2 set up tonight. We went with the GardePro A3S, the $ along with the Sony night image sensor made us want to give it a shot. Brownings and Bushnells seem to get great reviews and we may end up with one, but we are trying a few that are more budget friendly first.

So I have been having pretty good luck with the A3S, got it for just under $70, so not the cheapest and certainly not the most expensive. We have it wired to a motorcycle battery and have been able to take videos every evening. This one is triggering (more than the Wosport) and even by things that are over 50ft away.
