I have a similar tractor (Ford 9n). Not sure I can give you any mechanical advice. I can tell you how many tractors are too many tractors. According to my wife, 3 tractors are too many tractors.. LOL, but what do you do when you get the second one stuck trying to pull out the first one..
In all seriousness.. The advice I will give is to be SUPER safe. These old tractors have zero safety options and MANY people are killed by them every year. You must use your head at all times and it something feels unsafe STOP! Its easy to get complacent and then hurt/killed..
P.S. You NEVER EVER start a tractor if you are not in the drivers seat!

You will find all the information you need for any old tractor at the site: Yesterday's Tractors.
I've been there, done that when I had two Ford Jubilees. I replaced the rod bearings in the engine of one. I replaced the unloading valve for the hydraulics. I converted from 6V to 12 volt. And, there were many more small problems resolved by talking to people on the forum mentioned above. Many old parts are still available as imported through that site.
Best of luck. They are fun to tinker with. I lost both of mine to divorce (not my fault). I managed to have the money to buy new the next time around.
