Hi everyone,
Great site here! I've really been enjoying the posts.
I've been scouring the internet trying to find a 108sf shed with a loft. Its for my kids for a playhouse now and a shop later when they are done. It's been hard finding one that I love until today.
My question is if anyone knows where I can get some plans for this design. I feel that I'm skilled enough to wing it but having plans is always nice. I'm ok to purchase the plans. Hopefully I'll be able to attach the photo I have. If not I'll put in a link.
Thanks

Very nice little cabins in that link. Im winging it and thats half the fun in my opinion so cant really help you there. Little painful seeing those total prices laid out like that. Sure mine will be similar but hurts less when you do a little at a time it seems. Wonder if these account for the doubling of lumber prices over the last couple months.

I would hope it does consider the raise in lumber prices. I paid $10 more per square foot for my full time residence that came with property and is insulated.

Those are some cool little sheds/cabins. Wish they showed some inside pictures.
I agree, i hope those prices are the new inflated lumber prices. Even at that they seem $$$ for their size.

While it's not exactly the same there are some plans that Cottage Life magazine and Timbermart (Canada) have come up with that fits what you are looking for.

I'm starting a bunkie build in about 18 months and may go with this plan. I hope lumber prices come down before I need my materials.

Ooops,
Kelvarnsen I do remember coming across those plans weeks ago. I think I can use them as a starting point to get a materials list and have a game plan for the build. Thanks!
Just wondering what you think about the wall height. I’m the link I shared it says it’s a “high classicâ€. To me it looks like the wall height is extended from your standard 83.5†wall height.
It’s hard to tell from the picture but to me it looks like it may be about 12†taller. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the responses so far.

The plans that Kel posted show the wall height not much higher than the rough opening on a standard door, 83.5in. To me that alone is a waste of material. 2x4s generally come in 8' length. I'm also not sure why in the original link they chose 9' walls. You would have to buy a 10' and cut some off.
If your doing a loft I would suggest at least 8' walls or even 10'.

I feel that in the original link I posted the walls were framed with 10’ 2x4s. Whether or not they were cut down is anyone’s guess but in framing it this way you’d definitely increase the headroom in the loft significantly.
Hopefully I can get some dimensions and interior pics from the company selling the Bunkie. Only thing is I’m not quite sure how forthcoming with info they would be if your not buying. Who knows, maybe they’d sell me some drawing!

Wow those Timbermart plans are so detailed. Putting my graph paper sketches to shame.

Make life simple and consider using pre-cut 'stud length' 2x4 or 2x6's.

So if I wanted to build it with the 9’ walls I can get 9’ studs? I was gonna cut down 10’ers.

If you want a 9' finished wall height you need to subtract a single bottom plate and double top plate from the 9' then that should be your stud length. So you would need 103.5" studs. You would be cutting 16.5" off each 10' stud. If your doing a loft have you considered just useing 10' studs for extra head room? The loft floor joist height alone can take up valuable head room.

Regular dimensional lumber; ie, 2x6 x8' can vary from the 8' by a bit, not much, but ime enough to not trust it. Precut 'stud length' is 92 5/8" for 8' walls, 104 5/8" for 9' walls. Buying stud length saves you the time and the cost of the waste.
