Quoting: mikec We just call it a micro shack for fun, not sure if there is a rule or strict equation for Squ. ft. = name. Ours is 8x8 down stairs and about half that in the loft, maybe with a tail wind 100 squ. st. I would like to see the inside of the micro shack. Very nice.

Yep, they are very different. Once you start either up or down, don't stop. If you stop, your feet want to try and find the step on the other side which isn't there. Takes a little getting used to, but good after that.

You've done a very nice job. I very much like the fact that you've paid a lot of attention to detail and made the space elegant and uplifting. Very much like your ladder to the loft.

Our new chairs and table. The chair hanger names were the idea of a famous micro house inhabitant, they make so much sense we just had to use them. DSC00669.JPG

wow, your interior is amazing!!! We have been looking at pink insulation for so long now that I never believe that it is going to be finished.....that being said, we are heading out this weekend to close up the inside, and do the pine paneling and finally turn on the lights....(have all of the solar in place and are adding the inverter) If ours looks 1 tenth as nice as yours I will be thrilled:)

Nicalisa, I looked at your cabin, it is awesome. Really, that place is beautiful, big and the inside already looks great and we love your stained glass. Thanks for the complements but you are right on the money with what you all have done. Keep it up and post more pictures as you make further progress. Your place is great!

bugs, We also watch your's, if we can catch up to you we will be very happy! The inside is very complex to work through, you are the master of small inside design and we just keep flip flopping on our layout (thats the bad news), on the other hand, we keep using it like it is (thats the good news). Ten pounds of potatoes in a two pound sack, its just hard convincing our minds that we only need the two pounds. Work on the place is therapy, being there as often as we can is hope, everyone deserves hope and I certainly need the therapy!
Ms. Mom, Thank you.

Simply beautiful design and great cost ;)
Love how you turned something small into something so beautiful that you don't care what size it is, just seems too fun to stay in.. heh

Russ, thats very nice of you to say, thanks! It is fun and it is small, but we enjoy the heck out of it. Hope to finish this year with some interior details (cabinets, shelves etc) and some no maintenance landscaping. Truly a labor of love.

Just got back from a couple of days at the little shack and discovered we have a Texas flea infestation. These things are tough, they move through one night and don't come back for days, hard to pattern for any assault on them.

Trust me, they are like fleas. They were concentrated around water for most of the year, now with a little rain they are starting to spread out. Hope you don't have them, but if you do, they are like fleas.
