Hello, I have been looking at the site for a few months trying to get ideas about what to do, or where to start. We have purchased some property in the NC Mountains on the Pacolet river (Trout stream). A section has been cleared w septic installed. For the 1st year or so we will be using the RV for weekend trips as its only 2 HRS away and try to get ideas as to what to do. I have thought about making a 16x28, 12/12 pitch shed for the rv and later converting to a cabin? Has anyone done / doing this? any Ideas / pics appricated. Also we will be taking a 55gal drum for water and using 2x 2000 w honda generators for awhile, the water co gets $1600 to connect water w a $17 a month just to have service. Thanks for all the info.

Welcome to the forum SFCLYNCH. Great looking cabin site you have there. Near a trout stream....even better.
Good luck with your project!
Any questions, just ask. Very knowledgeable folks here.

if you build the shed you will be able to collect lots of water for your barrel [try and find a dark color barrel ,keeps out the sun ] it is difficult to collect water from a trailer roof. most trailer pumps will suck water from a barrel sitting close behind the trailer once they are primed .mine does.I have a old trailer with a tin roof over it.the differance is we can never build because of bylaws . our place is old and not very girl friendly [mostly used for a fishing and hunting getaway ] not to worry,, the ladies have a place of their own at the beach [hot and cold running everything including a dishwasher]] welcome aboard just

Sounds like a fun project.16x28.Just draw out a reptangle that is 4 inches by 7 inches.1/4 inch =a foot. You can have a great time playing with windows, walls, doors, counters, stove, frig,Just remember a quarter inch equals a foot.Draw up your own blue print.

Does a DC 12v water pump only work when needed or does it have to be cut on and off when in use? Please advise or send me a link to look up. Thanks Randy Thanks for looking.

I just picked got one of these....they cut ON when the pressure gets below 40lbs and "knocks off" on it on when it maintains 40lbs pressure...at least that what I was told by my friend at the camper place.
and BTW your camp looks great!!! in the dry is a great feeling!!!!

Good lord, did you build this yourself, or contract it? I have a 24x32 with a 15x32 porch and 8x8 bathroom added on and I have been at it for over a year and a half.. lol
Very clean build and awesome pics!

I have contracted a couple of friends for the foundation and dry in, and a few have went up almost every weekend to assist in wiring, interior walls and a little plumbing. They have been a great asset, it will slow down im sure at times. The weather has been our greatest enemy... rain rain rain. Cost is alot of beer, and food. but has been good times so far.
Thanks for looking
