Kind of feeling nostalgic today.
On Mar 25, 2009 we finalized the first land purchase that started us on our small cabin trek. Our op and thread is here: Our New Property and Project
Have come a long way and it was a lot of hard work and decisions had to be made. Overall I think it was mostly for the better.
Was wondering if others would like to post their project starts and where they are now. Kind of befores and currents. May inspire some new folks that are feeling as overwhelmed as we did at the start. four corners, realestate flags, potential yard site

Don't know if my post will inspire future cabin builders or send them running but here are the moments along the way to where we are now.
We closed on our land Jan. 2007 so it has been a long and at times stressful 5 years but it has also been amazing and incredibly fun!!!
The beginning of the beginning........pre-driveway and walking everything in by hand or 4 wheeler over 2 planks used to cross the creek. 100_0408.JPG

and lastly some of the frustrations...2 flat tires, 1 dead battery on a miserably cold morning at the cabin when we know nobody around, 2 blown transmissions (one in our van and the other in a friends) and standing water that still needs to be figured out how to drain it away from the cabin!Oh...and I can't forget that nasty fall off the ladder Mr. troll took! How about a frozen flat tire?
| Oh jeez...seriously! The trailer didn't have a spare!
