What do you all think of this stove? Does anyone have one?

I had issues with the tanks leaking when they were turned on their side. It wasnt that exact model but I would look into it before buying another. I like the idea of the kerosene as an off the grid cook stove.

I have an antique version with glass tank. I was able to get it off craigslist (used) for under $100. Really like kerosene stove as I've been paranoid about a potential propane stove leak in proximity to my wood burning stove. I've been using the wicks that came with it for years now.
A local gas station sells kerosene by the gallon for a lot cheaper than the pre-filled containers at big-box stores.
A nice stove add-on is a Coleman oven (metal box) that goes over one burner.
I also have a 3-burner version that was too large for the corner of my cabin, sitting in my basement collecting dust. Come to Ohio and get it! Perfection brand kerosene stove

Cabingal,
I've not noticed anything more than momentary fumes when lighting a stove or lantern. Your mileage may vary...
Not sure how many BTU's these burners deliver. If wick is turned up really high, you'll have yellow flames and soot deposits. I get this sometimes if I'm trying to quickly heat up a large pot of water. I try to keep flames down to "blue".

Oh........it's only for large Amish families. Now I'll have to marry into one......
Actually, Lehman's is a very good company, and there is a link on their site to download their free catalog.

Quoting: Wilbour How much for the 3 eggs? They're about $1.99 USD/dozen around here, but free to you if you'll split some firewood. BTW it was 93 F earlier today...

VC,
I do still have the 3 burner unit plus some spare parts gathering dust in my basement. Measures approx 32" high x 43" long by 17" deep. Available in Columbus OH or possibly Vinton Co, depending on the weekend.
My email is in my profile if you'd like to discuss offline.

These just showed up in the latest Garrett Wade catalog. I may order the small unit and give it a try at the camp. I like the idea of kero fuel instead of white gas for the days we have to cook inside.

If your wicks are good, clean and kero clear and fresh, burner parts clean...there should be no or very little smell.

MtnDon made some valid comments regarding kerosene fumes on the "oil lamp ambiance" thread regarding health concerns. You might want to check that out.

I have used a portable MSR Dragonfly stove. It is a great backpacker stove and I used one in Alaska when my daughters and I were in a small cabin in Alaska as participants in the Discovery Channels' The Alaska Experiment. The advantages are that it can burn just about any flammable liquid from jet fuel, diesel, white gas, and kerosene. The advantage of kerosene over gasoline is that the vapors from kerosene are not explosive like gas. It burns hot like a white gas stove. I know that some people think that kerosene is expensive. The answer is yes ONLY at hardware stores and such. I still purchase mine at the pump at different gasoline stations. Another plus for kerosene is that it does not go bad like gasoline, it does not "sour" over time. I used kerosene in "barn lanterns" in Alaska and use them in my cabin and at home. When I was a girl scout leader we used to leave one burning on a picnic table in the campsite and near the toilets. The burn rate is very low and very cheap to have a light going in the wee hours of the morning.
