I live 75 miles from my cabin. I complain, but I know some of you travel a long ways to get to your quiet place.

Right at 50 miles but only 40 to work in downtown Denver. Close enough so it's not a big deal to just go up and check on things .. but far enough that's it's like going to another world.

Thanks TB,

I feel lucky!! This is our tenth anniversary of going to ID. It is just the four of us and our doggie. Guessing this may be the last year of that for some time. Maybe not, but the kids are getting older, and it seemed like the right year to not have anyone else join us. We all have a couple big things we want to do to make this trip more special than it already will be.

You'll have a great time and I think you are right to just take your kids and spend time as a family. The older they get the harder it is to get that time. Enjoy the special things you have each chose to do and make some incredible memories!

Our cabin is in a different state than the state we live in, it is a whopping 4.4 miles away.

About 105 miles....some of it is on a windy dirt road, so it takes about 130 minutes.

50 minutes door to door. Been great with little kids and for making a trip for what ever reason.

About half way the temp drops about 5-8 degrees and it gets hilly and it feels like we are much farther from home.

About a quarter of a mile back from our house in the fields and woods on our property. Not extemely isolated, but very accessible. "Love where you live and every day is a vacation"
